The laperm kitten origin occurred in the place called Oregon in the United States. This type of kitten was found in the year 1982 in the city Dalles in Oregon. This kitten rose from spontaneous mutation. This laperm variety of cats belongs to the rex breed. This laperm kitten was found by Linda and Koehl who for the control of pest had many farm cats. They were surprised to see this cat variety. The first of this laperm variety is a female and it had no hair when born in simple words it born with bald skin. This kitten had a soft and tabby skin. The owner of this cat Koehl was surprised to see the hair growth in them after two to four weeks. Nearly after three to four months from their birth they showed a beautiful growth in their hairs. These hairs surrounded the skin coat of the laperm kitten.

After the laperm kitten origin the owner Koehl showed great interest in the research of this type of cats. The owners and founders of this cat named the first born laperm kitten as curly due to its curly hairs. The hairs of this kitten are also wavy and poodle. Linda found this cat very active and affectionate. This cat also helped their owners in farming. This kitten also helped them in hunting the mouse in their cherry farm. This kitten always gained the attention and care of their owners with their high noise. The owner of this kitten named this kind of breed as laperm which is a French word meaning rippled or curly. Because of their curly wavy hairs they gave this kitten this name. Later this female laperm curly gave birth to five male laperm kittens. In this way this laperm kittens expanded its origin in the United States and in other countries.
